There are about 60 plant families that fall under the umbrella of the succulent category! The word “succulent” originates from the Latin word “sucus” meaning to drink. Their stems and leaves actually retain large amounts of water in order to be drought resistant, which make them very durable house plants and great gifts for beginner plant lovers! Let us mix a wonderful arrangement for you in our fabulous pots, or grab a few and DIY!

CARE:

Some varieties of succulents do better indoors than others, and they generally need a lot of light. Most need at least 3-6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Depending on the variety, they may do better outdoors if there is not enough indoor light available. Green succulents tend to thrive better indoors than the colorful varieties. Because the succulents will retain water in their leaves and stems, they generally do not need a lot of water, and you want to allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. If you do not allow for this drying time, the roots will rot and kill the plant. However, if your succulents are in a very hot environment, and have an adequate drain, you may need to water more frequently (every 2-3 weeks) as your environment and weather changes, adjust accordingly. They will need to be watered even less in the winter months.
