Sourdough Starter: This starter that Breadtopia uses in all of their sourdough baking, is a great gift for the new or seasoned bread maker. A hearty strain of wild yeast that has served people well for almost 40 years. Fed, nurtured and dehydrated for a long, stable shelf-life.
For thousands of years, sourdough starter has been used to healthily and naturally leaven bread. Containing naturally occurring yeast and friendly Lactobacillus bacteria, sourdough starter also adds its own unique flavor profile to baked goods. Plus it's good for your gut.
Ingredients: Organic wheat flour and wild yeast culture.
Starter Jar: Custom manufactured, perfectly sized, straight-walled glass jar with a specially designed lid that keeps contaminants out but lets air in — plus a rubber o-ring to mark your starter’s pre-expansion level after feeds.
Jar volume is 700 ml (which is a tad shy of 3 cups). Dimensions (with lid): 5.5"H x 4"Dia.
Bread Lame:
A Lame (pronounced LAHM, meaning “blade” in French) is typically a long thin stick made to hold a metal razor used to cut, or score, bread dough to help control the expansion of the loaf as it bakes.
